School Uniform Information

At Alverstoke Infant School we are proud of our school uniform, recognising that uniform increases children’s sense of belonging and identity, impacting positively on behaviour.

We have carefully considered our uniform choices, ensuring it is readily available and affordable.

Please ensure you put your child’s name in ALL clothing and personal belongings to enable us to return them if mislaid.

School Uniform

Red or white polo shirts, either branded or not.

Red cardigan or sweatshirt, either branded or not

Grey or black trousers or skirt

Grey or black pinafore dress

Red and white summer dress

Black school shoes (not trainers)

Black, white or grey socks or tights

PE Kit

Red or white t-shirt, either branded or not

Black shorts

Black joggers or leggings for outdoor PE (winter months)

Trainers or Plimsolls

 

You can purchase branded school items through SCOPay, or you may choose to purchase non logo items from alternative supplies such as supermarkets or high street stores.

Good quality, pre-loved second hand items are also available on the rail in the school office for a small donation.

 

Presentation

Children should not wear jewellery to school expect small stud earrings.  This need to be removed on PE days or if your child can remove their own earrings, these will be placed in an envelope during PE sessions. If ears have been recently pierced, we will tape these for safety purposes during PE sessions, until they are healed.

In line with health and safety and in order to maintain a smart appearance, hair that is long enough to be tied back, should be.

Any child who is eligible for FSM Pupil Premium will receive one polo shirt, one cardigan or sweatshirt and one PE Kit each academic year.  They will be given a book bag on joining our school.

FSM Pupil Premium is available to children whose parents/guardian are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Job Seekers’ Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part V! of the Immigration and Asylum At 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit, and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190 as assessed by HMRC. Parents who are made redundant or start working less than 16 hours per week, may find their children entitled to free meals for a limited period.
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
  • Universal Credit; provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three pf your more recent assessment periods.
