What is a PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. Our PTA is called Friends of Alverstoke. FOA is run by a group of parents who work closely with the school to ensure that there are fun activities for the children throughout the year, they raise money for the school which helps fund new equipment, and events at the school – such as the Christmas Panto.

What do Friends of Alverstoke do?

We run various events throughout the year to raise funds. These include:
Dress Down Days
Raffles
Cake Sales
Halloween Trail
Movie Nights
Christmas gifts
Valentines Disco
Summer Fayre
….and much more!

How is the money raised spent?

We spend the money raised on a variety of activities for the children, for example Father Christmas visited the school and each child was able to have a gift for him and a picture to take home. The money is also spent on equipment for the school to enrich the children’s life in school.

Sounds great! How do I get involved?

Friends of Alverstoke are always looking for parent volunteers to help out at events and come up with fresh ideas for activities and fundraisers so we would be happy to hear from you! If you would like to get involved – please contact the chair of the PTA, Kirsty Ferguson, via: foa@alverstoke-inf.hants.sch.uk we can’t wait to welcome you!
